About Tenuta San Guido
Tenuta San Guido is a prestigious Bolgheri estate on the Tuscan coast, and the originator of Sassicaia, the world’s first Super‑Tuscan. Located in Castagneto Carducci, the winery sits on 2,500 hectares of Mediterranean forest and pasture, with roughly 75 ha planted with vines on gravelly, well‑drained soils reminiscent of Bordeaux’s Graves region—an intentional choice by founder Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta in the 1940s (Bolgheri DOC).
Producing iconic Cabernet Sauvignon‑Cabernet Franc blends, and its second and third wines, the estate combines precision, elegance and a pioneering spirit. Today managed by the Incisa della Rocchetta family and led by CEO Alessandro Berlingieri, Tenuta crafts three core labels—Sassicaia, Guidalberto, and Le Difese—that define the estate’s focus on Bordeaux-style reds and flagship quality.
