Geography & Climate

Located in the Minho province, the Vinho Verde region is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west and mountains to the east. The climate is cool, wet, and heavily influenced by the Atlantic, with abundant rainfall.

This cool, damp environment makes it challenging to ripen grapes fully, which naturally results in wines that are high in acidity and lower in alcohol. The soils are predominantly granite-based, which contributes to the wines’ characteristic minerality.
