About Arinto

Arinto is one of Portugal’s most important and versatile white grape varieties, valued for its electric acidity and citrus-driven profile. Believed to originate from the village of Bucelas near Lisbon, it is now grown across the country—from Vinho Verde in the north to Alentejo in the south.

Arinto is loved by winemakers for its resilience in hot climates and its ability to retain freshness. The grape is used in a wide range of wines—from crisp, mineral-driven single varietals to complex blends and even sparkling wines.

In recent years, Arinto has emerged as a favourite among fans of high-acid whites like Riesling, Albariño, and Grüner Veltliner.
