About Boekenhoutskloof

Boekenhoutskloof is a landmark winery located in the Franschhoek Valley of South Africa, renowned for its bold Syrah-based wines and innovative Rhone-style blends. Founded in 1776—one of the oldest estates in the valley—the farm takes its name from the indigenous Cape Beech (Boekenhout) that dots its rugged terrain.

Under the visionary leadership of Marc Kent since the 1993 revitalization, the estate has emerged as a benchmark producer of premium red varietals and iconic blends such as The Chocolate Block and Boekenhoutskloof Syrah. With about 20 ha under vine, the house specializes in vineyard-focused expression and limited-production excellence, from Syrah to Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon, and Viognier.
