About Château Minuty

Château Minuty is a historic Cru Classé estate in Côtes de Provence, located in Gassin on the Saint‑Tropez peninsula. Founded in 1936 when wine merchant Gabriel Farnet acquired 17 ha and a 19th-century château, the estate quickly embraced Provence’s garrigue terroir with calcareous schist and clay soils under a maritime Mediterranean climate noted for moderating sea breezes.

With vineyards now totaling ~200 ha—and annual rosé output approaching 8–9 million bottles—Château Minuty is under LVMH/Moët Hennessy ownership since 2023, while still steered by the Matton‑Farnet family into its fourth generation. The house crafts hand‑harvested rosés famed for finesse, aromatic purity, and Provençal elegance—from classic M Rosé to high-tier Or cuvées—all reflecting its terroir-focus and family-driven stewardship

History

Farnet Founding & Revival (1936–1960)

Gabriel Farnet acquired the derelict estate in 1936, replanted traditional varietals (Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Mourvèdre), and revitalized red and rosé production after WWII

Matton Era & Bottle Innovation (1960–1990)

Monique and Étienne Matton restructured vineyards, limited yields, introduced the iconic “corset flute” bottle (M Rosé), and elevated the estate's profile among Provence Cru Classé estates in 1955

Minuty is globally recognized as a leader in Provence rosé. The flagship M Rosé displays pale salmon pink with citrus, red berries and floral notes on a fresh, balanced palate—crafted from Grenache (~60%), Cinsault (~30%), Syrah (~10%) via short maceration and stainless-steel fermentation. High-tier Rose et Or blends Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Rolle from estate schist‑clay‑sand soils; ultra-fine, saline and aromatic—sold in limited quantities (~HVE certified)

White & Red Expressions

Though predominantly known for rosé, Minuty also produces reds from Syrah and Mourvèdre and whites from Rolle, reflecting full terroir expression across varietals, handling all hand-harvested fruit with controlled viticulture
