Founding & Widow’s Leadership (1812–1939)

Founded in 1812 by cooper André~Michel Pierlot, the estate passed to cellarmaster Eugène Laurent in 1881. After his accidental death, his widow Mathilde Emilie Perrier renamed the house Veuve Laurent‑Perrier in 1887, launching a sugar‑free cuvée in 1889 that anticipated modern trends in Champagne style

de Nonancourt Dynasty & Post‑War Innovation (1939–2005)

Purchased by Marie‑Louise Lanson de Nonancourt in 1939, the house was rebuilt post‑war by her son Bernard de Nonancourt, who assumed leadership in 1948. He revolutionized the brand by prioritising stainless‑steel fermentation, launching the iconic Brut Rosé (1968), and introducing the non‑dosé Ultra Brut in 1981—long before the category officially existed
